How PHP Runs on FimuroHost: PHP-FPM, Not mod_fcgid

Some install guides and older scripts ask you to configure mod_fcgid, an Apache module for running PHP through FastCGI. FimuroHost Cloud Hosting doesn't use mod_fcgid.

Instead, the platform uses a custom web server setup built to run PHP-FPM (FastCGI Process Manager) efficiently at large scale.

What this means for you

• No mod_fcgid settings to change: directives such as FcgidMaxRequestLen or FcgidIOTimeout in .htaccess don't apply and can be removed. PHP process management is handled for you.
• Change PHP settings the FPM way: use StackCP's PHP Configuration page or a .user.ini file in public_html. Don't use php_value / php_flag in .htaccess.
• Allow a few minutes: PHP-FPM caches configuration, and custom settings are re-read about every 5 minutes, so changes aren't always instant.
• Upload size: guides that tell you to raise FcgidMaxRequestLen for big uploads are solving a mod_fcgid problem. Here, raise upload_max_filesize and post_max_size instead.

Tip

If you've moved a site from a host that used mod_fcgid or mod_php and it now shows a 500 error, check .htaccess for Fcgid…, php_value or php_flag lines first. Removing them (and moving PHP settings to .user.ini) fixes most migration errors.
