Is the ionCube PHP Loader Installed?

Some commercial PHP software, such as billing systems, licensed scripts and premium add-ons, ships as encoded files that need the ionCube Loader to run.

Good news: on FimuroHost Cloud Hosting the loader is already installed. There's nothing to enable.

Where it's available

Whether the loader is available can depend on the platform and PHP version. If you're running PHP software and don't need Windows-only technology such as ASP.NET, use a Linux package.

Check that the loader is active

1. Create info.php in public_html containing:

2. Open https://yourdomain.com/info.php and search the page for ionCube. The top section should say the PHP engine is running with the ionCube PHP Loader.
3. Delete info.php afterwards.

Common problems

• "The file … was encoded for PHP x.y" or "cannot be decoded": encoded files are built for particular PHP versions. Ask the vendor for a build that matches your site's PHP version, or switch PHP to a version the vendor supports.
• Stopped working after a PHP upgrade: new ionCube Loader releases can lag behind new PHP releases. Switch back to the previous PHP version until the vendor and ionCube support the new one.
• "Site error: the ionCube PHP Loader needs to be installed": make sure the site isn't on a Windows package, then contact support with the exact message.
