Give Someone Access to Your Account: Users, Permissions and Contacts

Let a developer, colleague or accountant into your FimuroHost account safely. Invite users with chosen permissions, add contacts who receive emails, and remove access when it is no longer needed.

If someone else helps with your website or pays your bills, don’t give them your password. Your FimuroHost client area lets you invite users, each with their own login and only the permissions you choose, and add contacts who receive certain emails without logging in. You can remove either at any time.

Users or contacts: which do you need?

UserContact
Can log in?Yes, with their own email, password and 2FANo
What they getAccess to the parts of your account you allowCopies of the email types you tick (for example invoices)
Good forWeb developers, business partners, staff who manage services or open ticketsAn accountant who needs invoices, a colleague who should see domain notices
Other usesOne person can be a user on several client accounts and switch between themCan be used as the contact details for domain registrations

Invite a user

  1. Log in at app.fimurohost.com as the account owner.
  2. Open the account menu at the top right of the client area (it shows your name, for example Hello, Rahim!) and choose User Management.
  3. Under Invite New User, enter the person’s email address.
  4. Choose All Permissions or Choose Permissions. We recommend choosing only what they need (see the table below).
  5. Click Send Invite.

The person receives an email with a one-time link. They either create a new login or sign in with an existing one to accept. Invitations expire after a few days (currently about seven); if theirs expires, simply send a new one. Once accepted, the account appears for them in the client area, and if they have several accounts they can move between them with Switch Account.

Choosing permissions

The exact list is shown on the invite form. Typical permissions and when to give them:

PermissionGive it when…
View products & servicesThey need to see your hosting or VPS plans
Perform single sign-onA developer needs to open the control panel (StackCP) from the client area
View & modify product passwordsThey need service login details, such as VPS access
View domains / Manage domain settingsThey look after DNS, nameservers or domain contacts
View & pay invoices, View & accept quotesThey handle payments
View & open support ticketsThey will talk to our support team for you
Place new orders / upgrades / cancellationsOnly for people you trust to spend money or cancel services
Modify master account profile, View & manage contactsRarely needed; keep these for yourself
View emails, View & manage affiliate accountOnly if they genuinely need them

Change or remove a user

  1. Go to User Management.
  2. Next to the user, choose to manage permissions and update the ticks, or remove the user entirely.
  3. Pending invitations can be resent or cancelled from the same page.

Remove users as soon as a project ends or a staff member leaves. Removing them doesn’t delete their login; it only removes their access to your account.

Add a contact

  1. Open the account menu and choose Contacts.
  2. Choose to add a new contact and enter their name, email, phone and address.
  3. Under Email Preferences, tick the types of email they should receive, for example Invoice Emails for your accountant or Domain Emails for whoever manages your domains.
  4. Save. You can edit or delete the contact from the same page later.

Good practice

  • Keep yourself as the account owner, even if an agency manages everything day to day.
  • Ask every user to turn on two-factor authentication for their own login.
  • If you need to hand the account over to someone else permanently, open a ticket rather than sharing the owner’s login.
  • Only the account owner can normally invite or remove users. If an invited user needs this, the owner has to do it.
