Your client area password protects your invoices, services and domains, so it is worth keeping it strong and changing it if you think anyone else might know it. This guide shows how to change it when you are logged in and how to reset it if you have forgotten it.

Note that this password is only for the client area. Passwords for email accounts, FTP, databases, WordPress admin and VPS servers are separate and are changed in the control panel or on the server itself.

Change your password (when you can log in)

  1. Log in at app.fimurohost.com.
  2. Open the account menu at the top right of the client area (it shows your name, for example Hello, Rahim!) and choose Change Password.
  3. Enter your current password.
  4. Enter the new password twice. Watch the strength meter and aim for “strong”.
  5. Click Save Changes. Use the new password from your next login.

Reset a forgotten password

  1. Go to the login page and click Forgot password? (or open app.fimurohost.com/password/reset directly).
  2. Enter the email address you log in with and submit the form. If a security question has been set up for your account, you may be asked to answer it.
  3. Open the email we send and click the reset link. The link only works for a limited time, so use it soon.
  4. Choose a new password, confirm it and save.
  5. Log in with the new password. If two-factor authentication is turned on, you will still be asked for your code.

What makes a good password

  • At least 12 characters. A passphrase of four unrelated words with a number and symbol (for example river-Mango-47-lantern!, but not this exact one) is long and easy to type.
  • Unique: never reuse a password from email, Facebook or another site. If that site is breached, attackers try the same password everywhere.
  • Stored in a password manager (such as Bitwarden, 1Password or your browser’s built-in manager) rather than a note on your desk or in WhatsApp.
  • Not your name, phone number, domain name or date of birth.

Common problems

ProblemWhat to do
The reset email doesn’t arriveWait five minutes, then check Spam/Junk and the Promotions tab in Gmail. Make sure you typed the same email you signed up with; for privacy we don’t say whether an address exists.
The reset link says it has expired or is invalidRequest a new one and use the newest email only. Opening an older link fails after a newer one has been sent.
You no longer have access to your login emailMessage us on WhatsApp at 01818160926, because opening a ticket requires you to be logged in. We will need to verify your identity before changing the email on the account.
Login is blocked after several wrong attemptsFor security, repeated failures can block logins from your connection for a short time. Wait, then use Forgot password? rather than guessing again.
Your browser keeps filling in the old passwordUpdate or delete the saved entry in your browser or password manager.

If you think someone else knows your password

  1. Change it immediately using the steps above.
  2. Turn on two-factor authentication under Security Settings, if it is available for your account.
  3. Check User Management for users you don’t recognise and remove them.
  4. Check Account Details and Contacts for changed email addresses.
  5. Tell us through a ticket so we can check for anything unusual.

FimuroHost staff will never ask you for your password, a one-time code or a backup code, by email, phone, ticket or WhatsApp.
