Find What Is Using Your Disk Space with File Manager

If your hosting is close to its storage limit, the quickest way to find the cause is the Disk Usage report built into StackCP's File Manager. It shows which folders and files take up the most space, with charts to make it easy to spot.

Run a Disk Usage report

1. Log in to your FimuroHost client area, go to Services, select your hosting plan and click Login to Control Panel / StackCP.
2. Open File Manager from the dashboard.
3. Right-click on a folder, or on an empty area of the file list to check the current folder.
4. Choose Disk Usage from the menu.
5. Wait a moment. The report appears below the file list and can take a little while to fill in on large sites.
6. Click the folder icons in the report to drill down into subfolders.

The report lists the largest folders and files and shows charts of where your space is going.

Good to know

• If you close the report, you can reopen it from the menu in the bottom-left corner of File Manager.
• The report is not saved. Once you leave the File Manager page you will need to run it again.

Tips for freeing space safely

• Download anything you might need before deleting it.
• Remove old plugin backups; your hosting already keeps automatic Timeline Backups.
• If an error_log is large, fix the error it keeps recording, not just the file.
• Remember that email and databases also use storage. Check large mailboxes and database size in StackCP too.
