With cPanel Hosting you can create email addresses on your own domain, such as [email protected] or [email protected]. Each address is a real mailbox with its own password, which you can read in webmail or connect to Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird or your phone.
For email to arrive, your domain’s MX records must point to your cPanel server. If your domain uses the nameservers from your FimuroHost welcome email, this is set up automatically.
Create an email account
- Log in to your FimuroHost client area at https://app.fimurohost.com.
- Go to Services and select your cPanel Hosting plan.
- Click Login to cPanel. cPanel opens in a new tab, already signed in.
- In the Email section, click Email Accounts, then click + Create.
- Domain: if you have more than one domain, pick the one the address should use.
- Username: the part before the
@, for exampleinfoorsales. Use lowercase letters, numbers, dots, hyphens or underscores. - Security: choose Set password now and type a strong password (or click Generate). Alternatively, choose Send login link to alternate email address to let the mailbox owner set their own password.
- Optional Settings » Storage Space: set a quota in MB or choose Unlimited. Unlimited still counts against your plan’s total disk space, so a quota protects your website from one very full mailbox.
- Automatically Create Folders for Plus Addressing: leave the default unless you use addresses like
[email protected]and want each tag in its own folder. - Tick Send a welcome email with instructions to set up a mail client if you want setup instructions sent to the new mailbox.
- Click + Create. The account appears in the list straight away.
You cannot rename an email address later. To “rename” one, create the new address, move or forward mail to it, then delete the old one.
Manage an existing account
In Email » Email Accounts, each address has these buttons:
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Check Email | Opens the mailbox in webmail without needing its password. |
| Manage | Change the password, change the storage quota, restrict sending, receiving or logging in, or delete the account. |
| Connect Devices | Shows the exact server names and ports for mail apps, plus automatic setup files for some apps. |
Change a mailbox password
- Click Manage next to the address.
- Under Security, enter the new password (twice) or use Generate.
- Click Update Email Settings at the bottom.
- Update the password in every phone and computer that uses this mailbox, otherwise they will keep failing to log in and may temporarily block your IP address.
Suspend a mailbox without deleting it
In Manage, the Restrictions options let you suspend receiving, sending or logging in. This is handy when a staff member leaves: stop logins but keep the mail for later.
Delete an email account
Click Manage, scroll to Delete Email Account and confirm. All messages in the mailbox are deleted permanently. Download anything you need first, or set up a forwarder from the old address to another mailbox.
The default (main account) address
cPanel also has a system mailbox linked to your cPanel username. It receives server notices, not normal mail. Use a proper address for your business mail and set your contact email under Preferences » Contact Information.
Common problems
- “You have reached the maximum number of email accounts”: your plan’s account limit is shown in the Statistics panel. Delete unused addresses, use forwarders instead of full mailboxes, or ask about a larger plan.
- Mail is not arriving: check that your domain uses our nameservers or that its MX record points to your cPanel server (see our Zone Editor guide).
- Mailbox full: raise its quota in Manage, or delete old mail and empty Trash.
Next steps
- Run Email » Email Deliverability so your messages are not marked as spam.
- Set up the mailbox on your phone and computer using the settings on the Connect Devices page.
