How to Add an SPF Record for Your Domain

An SPF (Sender Policy Framework) record is a small TXT entry in your domain's DNS that lists which servers are allowed to send email using your domain name. Receiving providers such as Gmail and Outlook check it, so a correct SPF record makes your messages more trustworthy and makes it harder for spammers to fake your address.

FimuroHost Cloud Hosting publishes and maintains its own SPF list of mail server addresses, so you only need to add a single include that points to it.

The record to add

Add it in StackCP

1. Log in to your FimuroHost client area at https://app.fimurohost.com, go to Services, select your hosting plan and click Login to Control Panel / StackCP.
2. In StackCP, open Manage DNS for the domain you want to change.
3. Scroll to the form for adding a new record at the bottom of the page.
4. Leave the name field blank, choose TXT as the type and paste v=spf1 include:spf.stackmail.com a mx -all into the data field.
5. Save your changes. New DNS records usually work within an hour, but can take longer to reach every network.

Using nameservers somewhere else? StackCP's DNS editor only takes effect when your domain uses ns1.stackdns.com and ns2.stackdns.com. If your domain points to another DNS provider (for example Cloudflare or your registrar), add the same record there instead.

Before you save: check for an existing SPF record

A domain must have only one SPF record. If you already see a TXT record starting with v=spf1, edit that one instead of adding a second — two SPF records cause both to fail.

The -all at the end tells other providers that mail for your domain should come only from the servers listed. Tips

• You can use the same SPF value on every domain whose email is hosted with FimuroHost.
• SPF works best together with DKIM and DMARC. Setting up all three gives you the best chance of landing in the inbox.
• To confirm the record is live, use any online "SPF lookup" tool and enter your domain.
