Outlook can usually find your FimuroHost email settings by itself thanks to autodiscovery — you just enter your email address and password. If that doesn't work, you can enter the IMAP settings manually in a couple of minutes.

Automatic setup

  1. In Outlook, open File and choose Add Account. In the new Outlook for Windows, go to Settings → Accounts → Email accounts → Add account.
  2. Enter your full email address and click Continue (or Connect).
  3. Enter your mailbox password when asked.
  4. Click Next and then Finish / Done.

Manual setup (if automatic setup fails)

  1. Start adding the account as above, but choose Advanced options → Let me set up my account manually, or pick IMAP when asked for the account type.
  2. Enter these settings:
SettingValue
Incoming server (IMAP)imap.stackmail.com
IMAP port / security993 with SSL/TLS
Outgoing server (SMTP)smtp.stackmail.com
SMTP port / security465 with SSL/TLS, or 587 with STARTTLS
UsernameYour full email address, e.g. [email protected]
PasswordThe password of that mailbox
AuthenticationNormal password; the outgoing server requires authentication
  1. Make sure outgoing server authentication is turned on. In classic Outlook this is under More Settings → Outgoing Server: tick My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and choose to use the same settings as the incoming server.
  2. Save and let Outlook test the connection.

Common problems

  • Certificate warning: use imap.stackmail.com and smtp.stackmail.com rather than a hostname on your own domain.
  • Can't connect on port 993: some office or public networks block it. As a fallback, try IMAP port 143 with STARTTLS. Avoid switching encryption off completely, as your password would then travel unprotected.
  • Sending fails: check that SMTP authentication is enabled and try the other SMTP port (465 SSL/TLS or 587 STARTTLS).
  • Outlook keeps asking for the password: remove any old saved password for the account in Windows Credential Manager (or macOS Keychain) and enter it again.

Tip

Choose IMAP rather than POP3 so that your folders, read status and sent items stay the same in Outlook, webmail and on your phone.
