The built-in Mail app on iPhone and iPad works well with FimuroHost email. Setting the account up as IMAP keeps your messages and folders in sync with webmail and your other devices.

Before you start

Have your full email address and mailbox password ready. The server details are:

SettingValue
Incoming server (IMAP)imap.stackmail.com
IMAP port / security993 with SSL/TLS
Outgoing server (SMTP)smtp.stackmail.com
SMTP port / security465 with SSL/TLS, or 587 with STARTTLS
UsernameYour full email address, e.g. [email protected]
PasswordThe password of that mailbox
AuthenticationNormal password; the outgoing server requires authentication

Add the account

  1. Open Settings. On recent iOS versions go to Apps → Mail → Mail Accounts; on older versions it's Mail → Accounts (or Accounts & Passwords).
  2. Tap Add Account, then Other, then Add Mail Account.
  3. Fill in:
    • Name – how your name should appear to recipients.
    • Email – your full address, e.g. [email protected].
    • Password – your mailbox password.
    • Description – optional label such as "Work".
  4. Tap Next and make sure IMAP is selected at the top.
  5. Under Incoming Mail Server: Host Name imap.stackmail.com, User Name your full email address, and your password.
  6. Under Outgoing Mail Server: Host Name smtp.stackmail.com, User Name your full email address, and your password.
  7. Tap Next, keep Mail switched on and tap Save.

Check the outgoing server settings

iOS sometimes guesses the wrong outgoing port, so it's worth checking once:

  1. Open the account you just added and tap Account.
  2. Tap SMTP (under Outgoing Mail Server) and then smtp.stackmail.com under Primary Server.
  3. Make sure the server is On, Use SSL is switched on, authentication is Password, and the server port is 587 (or 465).
  4. Tap Done and go back to save.

Common problems

  • "Cannot Verify Server Identity": you've used a server name based on your own domain. Change it to the stackmail.com names above.
  • Only the Inbox shows up: set the IMAP Path Prefix (under Account → Advanced) to INBOX or leave it blank.
  • Password rejected: re-type it carefully; iOS may have auto-capitalised the first letter.
