How to Register a Domain Name with FimuroHost

Registering a domain with FimuroHost takes a few minutes: you search for the name, add it to your cart, pay the invoice, and the domain is registered with the registry through our accredited registrar partners. This guide walks through every screen and explains the choices you will be asked to make.

Before you start

• Have real contact details ready. The name, address, phone number and email you enter become the domain's registrant (owner) details. ICANN rules require them to be accurate, and the owner name decides who legally holds the domain. A fake name can make it very hard to prove ownership later.
• Use an email address you check often and that is not on the domain you are buying. A verification email is sent to it after registration, and renewal and transfer notices go there too. A Gmail or Outlook.com address is a good choice; [email protected] will not work until the domain and email hosting are set up.
• Decide where the website will be hosted. If you are buying FimuroHost hosting at the same time, you can keep the default nameservers. If the site is hosted elsewhere, have that provider's nameservers ready.

Step by step

1. Go to fimurohost.com/domain, type the name you want (with or without the extension) and search.
2. Check the result. If the name is available you will see the price and an Add to Cart button. If it is taken, the page suggests other extensions or similar names. Look at the renewal price as well as the first-year price on the pricing page, because some extensions renew at a higher price.
3. Add the domain to your cart. You can add several domains (for example .com and .net) before checking out.
4. On the configuration screen, choose the registration period. Most extensions allow 1 to 10 years. Registering for longer protects you against forgetting a renewal.
5. Set the nameservers:
   • Buying Cloud, WordPress or Windows hosting from us: leave the defaults, or use ns1.stackdns.com and ns2.stackdns.com.
   • cPanel hosting or a VPS: use the nameservers in your welcome email (or the ones for your server).
   • Hosting somewhere else: enter that provider's nameservers.
   You can change nameservers at any time later, so do not worry if you are unsure.
6. If a WHOIS privacy / ID protection option is shown for your extension, tick it. It is free where the extension supports it. See WHOIS Privacy (ID Protection).
7. Click Checkout. Log in to your existing account, or create a new one. Check that your name, address, phone (with country code, for example +880 for Bangladesh) and email are correct.
8. Choose one of the payment methods shown, accept the terms and complete the order. You are taken to the invoice to pay it.

What happens after you pay

• The registration is normally sent to the registry automatically within a few minutes of payment. The domain then shows as Active in Domains → My Domains.
• You receive a contact verification email. Click the link inside within 15 days, or the domain can be suspended. See Verify Your Domain Contact Email.
• The website starts working once the nameservers point to a server that hosts it. New domains often resolve within an hour, but allow up to 24–48 hours.
• New registrations cannot be transferred to another registrar for 60 days. This is an ICANN rule, not a FimuroHost restriction.

Common problems

• The domain still shows Pending after I paid. Payments from some methods take a little time to confirm. If it is still pending after a few hours, open a ticket with your invoice number.
• I made a spelling mistake. A registered name cannot be edited. You would need to register the correct name as a new domain. Registrations are generally not refundable once submitted to the registry; see our refund policy. Double-check the spelling in the cart before paying.
• The name became unavailable during checkout. Someone else may have registered it first. Contact us and we will help you with the order.
• I want a .bd domain. We do not sell .bd domains; they are registered through BTCL. You can still use a .bd domain with FimuroHost hosting. See Using a .bd Domain with FimuroHost Hosting.

Tips

• Keep auto-renew switched on and your contact email up to date, so you never lose the domain by accident.
• Turn on two-factor authentication for your client area account (account menu → Security Settings). Whoever controls your account controls your domain.
