Most transfers to FimuroHost finish within 5–7 days without any action from you. If yours is taking longer, or you received a message saying it failed, this guide helps you find out why and restart it quickly.
Follow the transfer
- Log in to your FimuroHost client area and go to Domains → My Domains.
- Check the domain's status:
- Pending: the order is waiting for payment. Pay the invoice under Billing → Invoices.
- Pending Transfer: the request has been sent and is waiting for the old registrar and registry.
- Active: the transfer is complete.
- Look the domain up at lookup.icann.org. A status of
pendingTransfermeans the registry has received the request and the clock is running. - Check your email, including spam, for messages from your current registrar about the transfer. They may ask you to approve it.
Common reasons for failure and how to fix them
| Problem | Why it happens | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Invalid EPP / auth code | The code was mistyped, had extra spaces, or was changed by the old registrar after you copied it. | Get a fresh code from the old registrar, then open a ticket with the new code so we can resubmit. Do not place a new order. |
| Domain is locked | The old registrar's lock (clientTransferProhibited) is still on. | Disable the lock at the old registrar, wait until the lookup no longer shows it, then ask us to resubmit. |
| Registered or transferred in the last 60 days | ICANN 60-day rule. | Wait until the 60 days have passed. See The 60-Day Transfer Lock Explained. |
| Recent owner change | A Change of Registrant lock. | Wait 60 days from the change, unless you opted out. |
| Transfer rejected at the old registrar | Someone clicked reject on the confirmation email, or the old registrar denied it (for example for a dispute or suspected fraud). | Ask the old registrar for the reason, resolve it, and ask us to resubmit. |
| Domain in redemption | The domain expired and was deleted. | Restore it at the old registrar first. |
| Registry hold or dispute | Statuses such as serverTransferProhibited or serverHold. | Contact the old registrar; only the registry can lift these. |
| Premium or special domain | Some premium names have different transfer pricing. | We will contact you with the cost. |
Why is it taking more than a week?
- The standard process gives the old registrar five days to respond, after which the transfer is normally approved automatically. Weekends and holidays do not stop this clock, but processing on either side may add a day or two.
- Some country-code extensions, such as
.ioor.me, follow their own transfer process and timing. - If the order is still marked Pending rather than Pending Transfer, the request has not been submitted yet, usually because the invoice is unpaid or the EPP code needs correcting.
Will my website go down?
A failed or slow transfer does not affect your website or email. The domain stays with your old registrar, with the same nameservers, until the transfer completes. The only risk is if the domain expires while you are waiting, so keep an eye on the expiry date and renew at the old registrar if needed.
Retrying a transfer
Do not place a second order for the same domain. Instead, open a ticket with the domain name and, if needed, the new EPP code, and we will resubmit the existing order. If you decide not to transfer after all, tell us, and see our refund policy for failed transfers.
Need help?
If your transfer has been pending for more than seven days, open a support ticket from your client area (choose the Support department and include your domain name), or message us on WhatsApp at 01818160926. We are happy to check your domain for you.
