How to Point Your Domain to FimuroHost cPanel Hosting

Connect your domain to your cPanel Hosting plan by changing nameservers to those in your welcome email, or by using A and MX records, and check that the change has worked.

Your website and email only start working on your cPanel Hosting plan once your domain’s DNS points to our server. There are two ways to do this: change the domain’s nameservers (recommended), or keep your current DNS provider and change individual records.

Find your details

The nameservers and server hostname for your cPanel Hosting plan are listed in the welcome email we sent when the plan was activated. The server’s IP address is also shown in cPanel under General Information » Shared IP Address. Use those exact values; cPanel Hosting servers use different nameservers from our Cloud Hosting plans.

Option 1: Change nameservers (recommended)

With our nameservers, cPanel manages all DNS for you: website, email, SSL validation and email authentication records are created automatically, and you can edit anything in Zone Editor.

If your domain is registered with FimuroHost

  1. Log in to https://app.fimurohost.com and open Domains.
  2. Click the domain, then choose Nameservers (in the manage menu).
  3. Select Use custom nameservers and enter the nameservers from your welcome email, one per box.
  4. Click Change Nameservers.

If your domain is registered elsewhere

Log in to your registrar’s website, find the DNS or nameserver settings for the domain, replace the existing nameservers with ours and save. For .bd or .com.bd domains, the change may need to be requested through the company that registered the domain for you.

Before switching nameservers

If you already use email or other services on the domain (for example Google Workspace or Microsoft 365), note down the existing MX, TXT and CNAME records first and recreate them in Zone Editor, otherwise those services will stop working when the nameservers change.

Option 2: Keep your DNS provider and change records

Use this if your DNS is on Cloudflare or another provider you want to keep. At your DNS provider, set:

TypeNameValue
A@ (the domain itself)Your cPanel server’s IP address
A or CNAMEwwwThe same IP (A), or yourdomain.com (CNAME)
AmailThe same IP, if you use cPanel email
MX@mail.yourdomain.com, priority 0 or 10, if you use cPanel email
TXT@ and default._domainkeySPF and DKIM values from Email » Email Deliverability » Manage

Add other names you use, such as subdomains, in the same way. Remove old A or AAAA records that point to your previous host, or visitors may reach the old server.

How long does it take?

Nameserver changes usually work within a few hours but can take up to 24–48 hours worldwide, because networks cache the old answer. Record changes are often faster. During this time some visitors may see the old site and some the new one. Keep your old hosting active until everything works on FimuroHost.

Check that it worked

  • Use an online DNS checker (search for “DNS propagation checker”) and look up your domain’s NS and A records.
  • On a computer, run nslookup yourdomain.com in Command Prompt or Terminal and check that the address matches your server IP.
  • Once DNS points to us, go to Security » SSL/TLS Status in cPanel and click Run AutoSSL if the padlock is not active yet.

Common problems

  • “Nameservers are not valid” at the registrar: copy the names exactly from the welcome email with no spaces or trailing dots.
  • Website works but email does not: with Option 2, check the MX record and the mail A record.
  • Still seeing the old site after 48 hours: clear your browser and computer DNS cache, try mobile data, and check for leftover old records.
