How to Add Another Website Domain to Your Cloud Hosting

You can run more than one website from your FimuroHost Cloud Hosting plan. Each additional domain simply gets its own folder, so its files stay separate from your main site.

How the folders work

• Your primary domain uses the public_html folder.
• Each additional domain needs its own folder, created at the same level as public_html (not inside it).
• StackCP's Document Root setting tells the server which folder belongs to which domain.

For example:

/public_html        <- example.com (primary)
/shop-example-net   <- example.net
/blog-example-org   <- example.org

                        
                    

Step 1: Create the folder

1. Log in to your FimuroHost client area at app.fimurohost.com.
2. Go to Services and select your Cloud Hosting plan.
3. Click Login to Control Panel / StackCP. StackCP opens for that website, already signed in.
4. Open File Manager (or connect over FTP) and go to the top level, where public_html is.
5. Create a new folder for the domain. A clear name such as example-net makes life easier later.

Step 2: Add the domain

1. In StackCP, go to Manage Domains in the Domain Names section.
2. Add the new domain name.
3. Set its Document Root to the folder you just created and save. Document root changes can take around 15 minutes to apply.

Step 3: Build the site

1. Upload your website files into the new folder, or install an application such as WordPress into it.
2. Point the new domain to FimuroHost by setting its nameservers to ns1.stackdns.com, ns2.stackdns.com, ns3.stackdns.com and ns4.stackdns.com.
3. Issue a free SSL certificate for the new domain in StackCP once its DNS points to us.

Tips

• Don't nest sites. Putting an extra site inside public_html means it can also be reached as a sub-folder of your main domain.
• Separate databases. Give each website its own database and database user.
• Same site, extra domain? If the new domain should show the same website (for example a .net version of your .com), point it at public_html instead of a new folder.
