Is FFmpeg Available on Cloud Hosting?

No. FFmpeg, the command-line tool for converting and processing audio and video, is not available on shared FimuroHost Cloud Hosting. Plugins or scripts that depend on it (for example to create video thumbnails or convert uploads) will not work.

Alternatives

• Convert on your computer. Use a free desktop tool such as HandBrake or FFmpeg itself to compress and convert your videos before uploading them.
• Use a video platform. Upload videos to YouTube, Vimeo or a similar service and embed them on your site. They handle conversion, adaptive quality and fast playback worldwide, and your site stays fast.
• Use a media processing service. Some cloud services convert video through an API if your app needs to process uploads automatically.
• Use a VPS. If server-side video processing is central to your project, a VPS lets you install FFmpeg yourself.

Tips for video on your site

• If you self-host a video, export it as MP4 (H.264) for the widest browser support, and keep file sizes small.
• Large video files use up storage and bandwidth quickly. Embedding from a video platform is usually the better choice.
