Every FimuroHost mailbox has a storage limit (quota). When a mailbox is full, new messages can't be delivered and senders may get a bounce message saying your mailbox is over quota. The usual culprits are old spam, a full Trash folder and emails with large attachments.

Check how full your mailbox is

  1. Log in to your FimuroHost client area at https://app.fimurohost.com, go to Services, select your hosting plan and click Login to Control Panel / StackCP.
  2. Open Email Accounts. The usage of each mailbox is shown next to its name.

Free up space

Empty the Trash

Deleted emails stay on the server in your Trash (Deleted Items) folder until it is emptied. In your email app or webmail, right-click the Trash folder and choose Empty Trash, Empty Folder or Erase Deleted Items.

Check first: emptying Trash deletes messages permanently from the server, so make sure there's nothing in there you still need.

Clear out Sent items

Deleting a sent email only removes your copy; the recipient still has theirs. Open your Sent folder, sort by size or date and delete what you no longer need.

Empty the Junk / Spam folder

Spam can quietly build up. Delete it regularly.

Remove big attachments

Search for large messages (most apps let you sort by size). Save any attachments you want to keep to your computer or cloud storage, then delete the emails.

Increase the mailbox size

If you genuinely need more room, extra mailbox storage can currently be added in 10 GB steps. Open a ticket with the mailbox address and how much space you need, and we'll set it up for you. Limits and options can change, so ask support for current pricing.

Prevent it happening again

  • Many apps (Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail) can empty Trash automatically on exit or after a number of days — turn this on.
  • Use IMAP and archive old mail to a local folder or backup once a year.
  • Ask colleagues to share large files as download links instead of attachments.
