How to Turn On the CDN with Edge Caching

Every FimuroHost Cloud Hosting package includes a content delivery network (CDN). When it is on, copies of your site's static files, such as images, stylesheets and scripts, are stored on CDN servers around the world and delivered from the one closest to each visitor. Pages load faster and your hosting does less work.

There is no plugin to install and no DNS to change. It is a single switch.

Turn on Edge Caching

1. Log in to your FimuroHost client area, go to Services, select your hosting plan and click Login to Control Panel / StackCP.
2. Go to Manage Hosting → Manage for the package you want to speed up.
3. Find the CDN section and open Edge Caching.
4. Switch Edge Caching on.

That is all. From now on, static content is cached automatically and served from the nearest CDN location.

Clearing the cache

Cached files stay on the CDN until they are purged. If you update a stylesheet, swap an image or make design changes and visitors still see the old version:

1. Open Edge Caching again in StackCP.
2. Click Purge Everything.

This removes all stored copies from every CDN node. The next visitor's request fetches fresh files from your hosting, which are then cached again.

Tips

• Purge after deploying a new theme, changing CSS/JS or replacing images with the same file name.
• Also clear your own browser cache, or test in a private window, when checking changes.
• You do not need a separate caching plugin with the CDN switched on.
• While developing a site heavily you can leave Edge Caching off, then turn it on at launch.
