If you see "Due to an excessive number of invalid login attempts your account is temporarily locked", the control panel has blocked sign-ins for your account for a short time. This stops attackers from guessing your password. Your website and email keep working as normal. Only logging in is affected.

How the lockout works

After several wrong passwords in a row (currently five), the account is locked for a short time. Each further wrong attempt makes the lock longer:

Wrong password after the lock startsWait before trying again
1st1 minute
2nd5 minutes
3rd12 minutes 30 seconds
Any moreYou must reset the password

These timings are how the system behaves at the moment and may change.

Fastest fix: sign in through your client area

You don't need your StackCP password to manage your website. Single sign-on from your client area opens StackCP directly:

  1. Sign in to your FimuroHost client area at https://app.fimurohost.com.
  2. Go to Services and select the hosting plan for the site.
  3. Click Login to Control Panel / StackCP. StackCP opens for that site without a separate password.

If you've forgotten your client area password, use the password reset option on the client area login page. The reset link is sent to the email address on your FimuroHost account.

Reset the StackCP password

If you sign in to StackCP directly with its own username and password, you can reset that password at https://stackcp.com/recover. Keep in mind:

  • The reset email goes to your registered email address, so you need access to that inbox.
  • Your StackCP username is your email address, not your domain name. Many lockouts happen because people type the domain as the username.

Ask support to reset it

If you can't get into your registered email, open a ticket or contact us on WhatsApp. After we confirm who you are, we can set a new password for you from our admin panel, and that removes the lock right away.

Avoid getting locked out again

  • Use a password manager (Bitwarden, 1Password, or the one built into your browser or phone) so the saved password is always the right one.
  • After you change your password, update it everywhere it is saved, including other browsers and devices.
  • Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) wherever it is offered. Even if someone knows your password, they still can't get in.
  • If you didn't cause the failed attempts, someone else may be trying to get in. Change your password straight away and tell our support team.
