How to Check Whether DNS Has Propagated to FimuroHost

After you change nameservers or DNS records, the update spreads across the internet gradually. During that time some people see the old server and some see the new one. Here is how to check what your computer sees.

Step 1: Find your hosting IP address

Open StackCP for your site (client area > Services > your plan > Login to Control Panel / StackCP). The IP address is shown in the account information panel on the right.

Step 2: Look up your domain

Open Command Prompt on Windows or Terminal on macOS or Linux and run:

ping yourdomain.com
ping www.yourdomain.com

                        
                    

Test both versions separately: each record is cached on its own, so one can update before the other. Press Ctrl+C to stop ping on macOS or Linux.

If ping is blocked on your network, these commands show the address without sending pings:

nslookup yourdomain.com
dig +short yourdomain.com

                        
                    

Step 3: Compare

• The IP matches the one in StackCP: DNS has propagated for you.
• A different IP: the change has not reached you yet. This is normal if you recently created the hosting package, changed DNS records, or updated your nameservers.

Tips

• Nameserver changes usually take a few hours but can take up to 24 hours or more.
• Clear your local DNS cache (ipconfig /flushdns on Windows) and try a private browser window.
• To see results from many locations at once, use an online DNS propagation checker.
