How to Check Which Nameservers Your Domain Uses

Nameservers decide where your domain's DNS is managed and, in turn, which server your website and email use. For FimuroHost Cloud Hosting the nameservers are:

ns1.stackdns.com
ns2.stackdns.com

                        
                    

Check in StackCP

If your domain is listed in StackCP under Manage Domains:

1. Open StackCP from your client area (Services > your plan > Login to Control Panel / StackCP).
2. Go to Manage Domains.
3. Find the domain and click Manage.
4. Click the Nameservers icon. The current nameservers are shown and you can change them from the same screen.

If you registered the domain elsewhere, check or change the nameservers at that registrar's control panel instead.

Check from any computer

You can look up the nameservers of any domain from Command Prompt or Terminal:

nslookup -type=ns yourdomain.com
dig NS yourdomain.com +short

                        
                    

An online WHOIS lookup also shows the nameservers registered for the domain.

How long changes take

Nameserver changes usually take effect within 6 to 8 hours, but can take up to 24 hours or occasionally longer. During this time some visitors may still reach the old server.

Tips

• Before switching, make sure your site and email are fully set up on FimuroHost, and test using the temporary preview address.
• If you use Cloudflare, your nameservers will be Cloudflare's. Manage DNS records there and point them to your hosting IP.
